Bucket Elevators
Bucket elevators (sometimes called elevator "legs") represent the best way to move material vertically in a small area or to achieve discharge heights greater than those easily accomplished with inclined conveyors. They have a much smaller footprint compared to inclined conveyors and are totally enclosed and can be made dust-tight.

Bucket elevators can be divided into two basic types, grain-duty and industrial-duty. Grain duty can be used in moderate industrial environments, but aren't usually constructed heavy enough to endure the rigors of conveying industrial materials such as cement or sand. Industrial-duty elevators are made of heavy construction, longer bucket spacings with fewer, larger buckets that travel at lower speeds (to reduce abrasion), and heavier chain or belt designed for hazardous environments. They are also used in more demanding grain applications or when a long service life is desired. All SBE bucket elevators are of the industrial type.
