The conveyor's operation is simply described as follows:
A continuous loop polymer coated wire rope, which has polyurethane discs mounted to it and spaced evenly throughout the length of the rope, travels at a constant rate of speed, through a totally enclosed system, to transfer the dry ingredient material fed into the feed chute and centrifugally discharges it through the head chute.
Within the above operating description lie many subtle functions that make this machine so versatile yet simple, plus, it's the most efficient transfer method for bulk solid materials.
The aeromechanical conveyor's rope assembly speed is similar to that of a true dense phase pneumatic conveyor system; between a dilute phase pneumatic conveyor (high speed) and a drag type of conveyor (low speed). However, there is no blower/compressor associated with the Floveyor. Because of this feature, the aeromechanical conveyor can handle such a versatile range of materials like no other conveyor.
The velocity of the discs creates a natural draft pocket whereby the material is carried through the conveyor's tubes. By virtue of the velocity, the material is in the conveyor for a very short amount of time. This leads to maximizing the efficiency of the machine by transferring a small amount of material quickly, therefore, consuming the least energy, yet maximizing the material throughput rate. Dust Collectors and Filter Separators are commonplace with all other types of conveyors, but they are not needed with the aeromechanical conveyor. This is another effect for efficiency.
While other manufacturers of "so called aeromechanical conveyors" offer variations by varying the speed of the rope assembly, arranging a single machine in "L", "Z", "C" or similar shapes, flooding the inlet, plus other differences, these only lead to a misapplied situation, whereby a significant maintenance and purchase of spare parts is required for the machine to function over a duration of time. Still, other manufacturers reduce the speed of the machine to that of a drag conveyor that, again, leads to numerous spare parts. These are remedies to applications at a reduced initial purchase cost, only. While the initial cost is a significant factor in any buying decision, FloAero Inc offers an engineered solution to your application at a reasonable price.
Combining our knowledge of the proper use of an aeromechanical conveyor with that of other processing equipment, FloAero Inc offers its customer's completely customized engineered bulk feed systems of equipment. Whether it's an entire system of equipment or only an aeromechanical conveyor, the customer receives on site service for proper instruction in maintaining the machine for a long lasting installation.
Floveyor Ancillary Equipment The Floveyor aeromechanical conveyor is a very simplistic operating machine. And, this makes it Feed End Discharge End Both Ends FloAero Inc has the capability to supply an entire system of equipment associated with the Floveyor
such a reliable workhorse for many types of processes and dry solid bulk materials. However, it is
important that when a Floveyor is purchased, it is necessary that the proper ancillary equipment for its
feed and discharge ends are supplied, too.
The flow of the dry solid bulk material shall be regulated into the Floveyor's feed housing. This
necessitates the use of one of the following:
1. Screwfeeder - regulated high volume output directly into the feed housing.
2. Pour - manual / automatic pouring into the feed chute.
3. Volumetric Feeder - highly accurate output directed into the feed chute.
With the flow of the dry solid bulk material reaching speeds of more than 750 ft/min within the
Floveyor's tube, the discharge chute shall be connected to a suitably sized destination hopper / bin.
The criteria to determine a suitable hopper / bin volume include:
1. Material volume in an aerated state.
2. Additional empty volume to allow for the incurred dust to be contained within.
3. Large enough hopper / bin diameter to allow for the material's dust to settle.
The rope assembly's speed generates a draft pocket behind each disc. With the draft pocket being a
non-measurable amount of vacuum, the Floveyor functions in an atmospheric condition (no forced
pressure/vacuum air). The dry solid bulk material displaces air at the Floveyor's outlet while that air
gets displaced with new material entering at the Floveyor's inlet. This gentle exchange of material
and air at both ends is simply balanced by a natural effect with atmospheric conditions present. The
source and destination equipment to the Floveyor shall be evaluated.
